The story behind DiversitiQ
Our journey in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Every social venture starts with a moment of clarity... a realisation that something needs to change. DiversitiQ grew from years of working within communities, public sector environments and organisational training spaces, where the same challenges around equity, diversity and inclusion appeared time and time again.
I saw talented people excluded from opportunities. I saw organisations that wanted to improve their EDI practice but struggled to navigate the complexity of workplace inclusion, legal obligations and cultural change. And I saw how deeply systemic barriers affected individuals from marginalised backgrounds.
With over a decade of working with vulnerable people directly, I saw the same patterns surace. People rarely had access to professional development, career pathways, or inclusive support systems. This pattern made it clear - opportunity and access do not always align.
This is where DiversitiQ was born, out of the belief that effective EDI consultancy must connect organisational change with community impact.
A different approach to EDI Consultancy in the UK
DiversitiQ was created to offer something more meaningful than tick-box training. Our mission is to bring honest, practical and human-centred EDI strategies to organisations that truly want to shift culture, improve equity and embed inclusive workplace practices.
Our work is shaped by our Steps, Shifts & Scars frameworkTM a model that helps organisations understand:
the steps needed to embed sustainable EDI practices,
the mindset shifts required for inclusive changes,
and the scars many organisations carry due to past inequities or workplace exclusion.
We specialise in equity-led consultancy, EDI training, inclusive leadership development, and strategic support for organisations across the UK public sector, private sector and community settings.
Why we chose to become a CIC
DiversitiQ is intentionally structured as a Community Interest Company, reinforcing our commitment to social impact, not just commercial delivery.
As a CIC, we reinvest profits into supporting:
NEET young people
marginalised and underrepresented communities
individuals facing barriers to employment or progression
This ensures our EDI consultancy work directly contributes to reducing inequality and increasing opportunity in real, measurable ways.
Our CIC model allows organisations to work with us knowing their investment supports broader social value, a key requirement across public sector procurement and corporate responsibility.
Driving inclusive culture & sustainable organisational change
Today, DiversitiQ partners with organisations seeking to move beyond compliance and create meaningful, long-term improvement in: workplace culture, diversity representation, inclusive leadership, equitable recruitment, staff wellbeing, cross-cultural communication, accessibility and neurodiversity inclusion, the list goes on.
We help organisations understand where they are now, where they want to be, and what practical steps will create measurable progress.
Our approach combines lived experience, strategic insight, data-driven recommendations, culturally competent training and trauma-informed facilitation.
Because effective EDI work requires honesty, empathy and expertise... not performative statements.
Our purpose: Equity, impact & real change
DiversitiQ exists to bridge the gap between organisations looking to improve their EDI outcomes and communities who deserve greater access to opportunity.
Our story is shaped by lived experience, a commitment to justice, and the belief that inclusive workplaces benefit everyone; teams, organisations and society as a whole.
This is not just our work. It is our purpose.
And we’re only just beginning.
